Lampang has gradually become a stop-over town since the northern hub moved to Chiang Mai. This may, somehow, freeze the development. On contrary, it is not, in fact, bad at all because the unique culture both tangible and intangible to identify the town is more or less intact. However, no one knows how long this culture would be preserved in a good condition or even better, how we could make benefits from such rich cultural capital. This is why the Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (Lampang) steps in to carry out the research and development project in order to engage cultural partners, enrich and enhance the prospective culture to drive the cultural economy for Lampang residents.
